Today I’m taking a moment to acknowledge Día de los Muertos.

Me and my mom went to Nevada State for a Día de los Muertos event. They were playing “Hybrid Moments” by the Misfits, my uncle’s favorite band. I’ve been listening to that song a lot lately, so it felt like a sign from him. It was emotional and felt really spiritual. I love you Carlos you are forever missed  🙏💀 -me and my mom didn't realize this until we got home and talked about it. Because what are the odds they would be playing The Misfits on the speakers. My heart goes out to those that have lost family and loved ones.

I’m now studying Communications at Nevada State because I want to perfect how I deliver strong and meaningful messages. Now that I’ve found my voice, I want to use it to inspire others. One day, I hope to stand on stage and share messages about never giving up and always chasing your dreams. The doctors never thought I’d make it this far—I wasn’t even supposed to survive that traumatic car accident. But here I am, attending a university, majoring in Communications, and proving that with faith, strength, and determination, anything is possible.
